Roundtable Invitation To Discuss The SRA’S Looking to the future: phase two of our Handbook reforms

As you may be aware, on 27 September the SRA launched Phase II of the Handbook consultation looking at further changes to the Handbook & the Enforcement Strategy, and a separate consultation on Information Transparency.

Liverpool Law Society’s Regulatory Committee and The Law Society’s Policy team are hosting a roundtable event on Monday, 13 November from 1pm – 2pm at Liverpool Law Society’s offices to seek member views and discuss the ‘SRA’s Looking to the future: phase two of our Handbook reforms’ paper.

The Law Society’s Head of Regulatory Affairs, Paul Wilson, will be present along with Mickaela Fox, Liverpool Law Society’s Regulatory Committee Chair.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide members with information about the SRA proposals on the Handbook changes and the new transparency requirements, and to give members an opportunity to discuss their views on these proposals.
Key things to consider are:
•    Do the Handbook proposals create opportunities for your firm, or do they create risks?
•    Will the new Handbook result in less time being spent on compliance?
•    Are there any protections or rules that you are concerned about losing?
•    Are there any missed opportunities to simplify the Handbook rules further?
•    Can your firm easily publish price information online, and does this present any opportunities or risks?
•    Would you benefit from a single, easily accessible SRA register of all firms and solicitors?

Members of Liverpool Law Society are invited to this event.  Places are limited, if you would like to take part, please email to book a place.
