Description

We are pleased to announce that Liverpool Law Society’s 2024 Annual Dinner will be taking place on Thursday, 14th November 2024.

We will be offering a warm welcome to the Liverpool Region’s legal community to come together to network with colleagues and peers and celebrate being part of a proud and vibrant legal profession.  It promises to be a fabulous evening.  We are honoured to have

The Rt Hon the Baroness Hale of Richmond DBE

as our guest speaker, as well as hearing from our President, Gaynor Williams and Vice President, James Mannouch.

Lady Hale retired as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in January 2020, after a varied career, as an academic lawyer at the University of Manchester (also qualifying and practising for a while as a barrister in Manchester), as the first woman member of the Law Commission, and as a Judge.  She has taken part in many notable cases, but most famously the ‘prorogation case’ in September 2019. In retirement she has spent her time in good works, speaking and writing – her memoir, Spider Woman, A Life, was published in 2021.

As if that isn’t enough…. we are delighted to be holding the Legal Awards ceremony during the evening, showcasing the excellent legal work of local firms and individuals completed over the past year.  With the Awards, there are 8 categories to choose from as follows:

  • Outstanding Team Award – Non-Contentious – sponsored by Landmark
  • Outstanding Team Award – Dispute Resolution & Litigation
  • Outstanding Team Award – Family Law – sponsored by Document Direct
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award – sponsored by LJMU
  • Rising Star Award – sponsored by The University of Law
  • Outstanding Lawyer Award – sponsored by Miller Insurance
  • Law Firm Award (1-49 employees) – sponsored by Clio
  • Law Firm Award (50+ employees)

On 14 November, there will be a collection and a raffle with some fantastic prizes to be won on the night for Lady Hale’s nominated charity.  It is the Freedom from Torture charity (Reg. Charity in England No. 1000340).  This worthy cause supports people who have survived torture to heal, feel safe and strong again. For those attending the evening, donations can be made via card machines circulating throughout the evening, and cash donations are welcome via the envelopes on the table. If you would like to donate by an alternative method (e.g. cheque, CAF or otherwise) please do request a form from a member of the Freedom from Torture team.

Ticket price includes a welcome drinks reception sponsored by ReviewSolicitors, a three course meal, wine on the table and coffee/tea.  There will be music after the conclusion of the awards ceremony.  Individual bookings or bookings of tables of 10 can be made using this webpage.  A limited number of larger tables of 12 may be available on request.

Tickets are priced at :
