The Law Society has responded to the Consultation surrounding the Arbitration Act 1996.
Our Alum Ullah, who is a Director at Liverpool Law Society and Chair of the Society’s Civil Litigation Committee, attended two working committee meetings, in which there was helpful discussion surrounding the appropriate submissions to be made on behalf of the wider society.
The Law Commission’s final report will contain conclusions and recommendations for reform, and will be accompanied by a draft bill. They must lay their final report before parliament, which is currently in recess and resumes in September.
The plan is for the Law Commission to publish their final report on Wednesday 6 September 2023. Once the publication is live, we will send further information signposting our members to it.
