Liverpool city region newly qualified solicitors were welcomed into the legal profession at a celebratory reception held at 30 James Street on 25 January 2018. The High Sheriff of Merseyside, Stephen Burrows DL, was on hand to give out the certificates of congratulations to the newly qualifieds who work at a range of small, medium and large law firms across the region.
Nina Ferris, President of Liverpool Law Society and many of her fellow directors were present at the evening to chat to the new entrants and the prizewinners who were also presented with a copy of a ‘Century of Liverpool Lawyers’ and a cheque for their performance in LPC exams from LJMU and BPP. There were also a further two prizes awarded, including one for Ali Hough, not only a newly-qualified solicitor but also the current Chair of the Merseyside Junior Lawyers Division.
The thanks of the Society go to the High Sheriff for attending in full uniform and giving an entertaining round-up of his responsibilities as High Sheriff, to the kind sponsors Unoccupied Direct and their representatives Sally Woolston and Wayne Shinn who travelled across the country to be at the event.
