Please see a message below from Shared Lives Plus – a Liverpool based charity.
Based in Liverpool, Shared Lives Plus is the UK charity for more than 6,000 Shared Lives carers and 150 local Shared Lives organisations throughout the UK. Our vision is to build kinder, stronger communities so that everyone has the chance to lead a full life, regardless of the support they need. Enabling people to live in a family home, sharing daily experiences and allowing them to thrive in local communities.
I wondered if you might be prepared to offer a free will writing service for people during the month of December, providing the opportunity for people, or instead, if they wish to give a donation to Shared Lives Plus.
Shared Lives carers open their homes to people who need support, for a wide range of needs, from mental ill health, dementia, to young people leaving care, and people who have a learning disability. Being part of an ordinary family home makes a life-changing difference – people can be themselves, learn new skills and stay connected with their family and friends. There are now 500 Homeshare households, bringing 1000 older and younger people together to share housing, tackle isolation and offer mutual support. During Covid-19, our members have experienced mercifully low rates of infection, compared to other kinds of care and support.
I would be delighted to discuss this further or indeed any future opportunities to work together.
Many thanks for any help that you might be able to offer.
