The Law Society joins jury trials working party (23 April 2020)
The Law Society, alongside the Bar Council and Criminal Bar Association, has joined a working party set up by the judiciary which will consider ways of starting jury trials as soon as that is safe.
The working party will report to the lord chief justice through its chair, the High Court judge Mr Justice Edis. The chair has welcomed the participation of representatives of the professions who will “make a real contribution to its work”.
Ian Kelcey has been appointed as the Law Society representative to this group and Ian is very happy to receive suggestions from members of the profession as to how we can move forward to getting Jury trials back on track. Please contact him at ian.kelcey@kelceyandhall.co.uk
